About Super Resolution

Super Resolution is an online AI image upscaler. You upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image, choose Photo or Anime mode and a factor from 2× to 16×, and download a larger PNG. Processing runs in the cloud, so there is nothing to install, and results made with paid credits carry no watermark.

Our mission

We want making a small image larger to be an ordinary task you finish in your browser, with the settings, the credit quote, and the limits all visible before you start.

Small images are everywhere: an old family photo scanned at a low size, a product picture from a supplier, a compressed download, a screenshot, a piece of artwork posted at a modest size. Enlarging one in a basic editor usually stretches the pixels that are already there, and the result looks soft or blocky as soon as it is viewed at the new size.

Super resolution takes a different approach. A trained model looks at the image and estimates plausible detail for the extra pixels, instead of only spreading the old ones out. It is worth being clear about what that means: the model adds detail that fits the picture, it does not bring back information the original never captured. We built Super Resolution so that people who need a bigger copy of an image, such as sellers, designers, illustrators, and anyone preparing a print, can get one without installing software or learning a desktop editor.

Super Resolution focuses on one job: taking a still JPG, PNG, or WebP image and enlarging it. Keeping the scope that narrow is what lets us state the limits plainly on this page and in the tool itself.

What Super Resolution does

It enlarges a still JPG, PNG, or WebP image 2×, 4×, 8×, or 16× with an AI model and returns a PNG of up to 34 megapixels (about 8K).

You control three things. Mode is Photo or Anime: Photo is meant for photographs and realistic images, and Anime uses a model intended for illustrated and animated artwork. Factor is 2×, 4×, 8×, or 16×. Enhance faces is an optional setting that applies face enhancement, and it adds to the credit quote when you turn it on.

The size of the result is limited to 34 megapixels, which is about 8K. Because the result is the original width times the original height times the factor squared, a larger image has fewer factors available. For example, a 1000 by 1000 pixel image has one million pixels, so it can be enlarged 2× or 4× but not 8×, while an image close to the 8.5 megapixel input limit can only be enlarged 2×. Only a very small image can use 16×.

The download is always a PNG. Uploads accept still JPG, PNG, or WebP files up to 20 MB, with each side from 16 to 8192 pixels. The Key facts above list every detail in one place.

How the upscaling works

You add an image, choose the settings, and confirm the credit quote. A hosted AI model then processes the image in the cloud and the finished PNG appears in your account.

Nothing runs on your own computer. You work from your browser, the cloud service does the processing, and the finished file is saved to your account so you can come back to it. If a job is taking a while you can leave the page, because the job is listed in History.

The workflow has four steps. Add a JPG, PNG, or WebP image. Pick the mode and the factor, and turn on Enhance faces if the picture has faces you want improved. Check the credit quote and start the upscale. When it finishes, compare the original with the result using the slider and save it.

The 16× setting is produced in two successive 4× passes, and because the result must stay within the 34 megapixel limit, it suits very small images. Every other factor runs as a single pass. If an upscale fails, the credits held for it are returned to your balance.

For the cleanest result, start from the largest and least compressed version of the image you have. Match the mode to the picture, choose a factor no larger than you need, and look at the result at full size before you use it, especially around faces and small text. Because the model estimates detail, fine textures and lettering may not match the original exactly.

What happens to your images

Your image is uploaded to private storage and processed in the cloud by a third-party AI processing provider. A daily cleanup removes source files older than 24 hours, and results stay in your account until you delete it.

Uploads and results sit in private storage and are not publicly readable. You preview and download your results from your browser while signed in to your account.

Upscaling runs on a third-party AI processing provider. When you submit an image, we give the provider a temporary link, valid for 15 minutes, that lets it fetch the source file, together with the processing settings, such as the mode, the factor, and whether Enhance faces is on. The provider returns the processed result, which we copy into our private storage. The provider handles the image under its own terms, which we do not control.

A daily cleanup job removes uploaded source files that are more than 24 hours old, so a source file is normally gone less than 48 hours after upload. Processed results stay in your account, ready to download from your history, for as long as the account exists. There is no way to delete a single result yet; deleting your account removes all of them, and the privacy policy describes how.

You can delete your account yourself from the Security page in your account settings. We email a confirmation link first, stop renewals and close open checkouts, and then remove your account, uploads, and results. If we cannot confirm that the payment steps are complete, your account is kept and is not deleted. A few records, such as anonymized financial records, are retained as the privacy policy explains.

Card details are handled by the payment processor and are not stored on our servers. The privacy policy is the authoritative description of how personal data is handled.

How we think about pricing

Every upscale is quoted in credits before it starts. Each verified account gets free credits every UTC day, and paid credits come from subscriptions and one-time packs.

The quote for an upscale grows with the size of the result: it is a fixed cost for each pass plus a share that depends on how many pixels the output has, and turning on Enhance faces adds to it. There is no flat rate per megapixel to calculate yourself, so the exact number is always the one shown in the tool before you confirm.

Every verified account automatically receives 24 free credits each UTC day. They expire at that day’s UTC midnight and do not accumulate, and there is no separate signup bonus. Free results are 2× in Photo mode and carry a watermark, which makes the free credits a way to test the tool on your own image.

Paid credits come as monthly or yearly subscriptions and as one-time packs. They unlock 4×, 8×, and 16×, Anime mode, Enhance faces, and results with no watermark. Paid credits never expire, including after a subscription is cancelled, and a yearly plan grants the same monthly credit allowance as a monthly one, so the yearly discount is on the price rather than on what you receive.

How we keep this page current

The formats and limits on this page are checked against what the product enforces, and the date at the top records when the page was last reviewed.

The byline at the top of this page shows who the content is attributed to and when it was last checked. File sizes, pixel limits, factors, and the output format quoted on the site are compared with a fact sheet generated from the product’s own configuration before a page is published.

If something here does not match what you see in the product, tell us through the contact page; corrections are handled like any other support message.

Frequently asked questions

Support is one email away, every verified account gets free credits each UTC day, and the answers below cover formats, image handling, refunds, and account deletion.

Contact us

Support covers upscaling problems, billing, account and privacy questions, and partnership and media inquiries.

If an upscale came out wrong, tell us the mode, the factor, whether Enhance faces was on, the format and pixel size of the original image, and when it happened; that shows us which kinds of images the model handles least well.
